It is my hope you will find my website a resource for your discovery into our Quiet Corner! Whether you are just traveling through or making a lifestyle change, you will love what you find here! Located in The Last Green Valley, the Quiet Corner is part of the Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor which was recognized in 1994 as a unique natural resource because at night the region appears distinctively dark amid the urban and suburban glow when viewed from satellites or aircraft. For this reason, northeastern Connecticut and south-central Massachusetts have been called “The Last Green Valley” in the sprawling metropolitan Boston-to-Washington Corridor.
Though we are known as Connecticut’s “Quiet Corner”…we really are anything but quiet especially when you consider all of the places that Vanilla Coke could have made it’s debut back in 2002 it choose to come out in Pomfret at The Vanilla Bean Café! And then consider downtown Putnam’s reputation as the “Antiques Capital of New England” with its popular Antique Marketplace, though today, the town is really known more for being a great dining destination featuring no less than 5 restaurants with al fresco dining! The area is also know for boutique shops and galleries featuring one-of-a-kind treasures over the likes of big box stores found everywhere else. A great online resource for getting to know the area is the Woodstock Cafe blog, where Stephanie was featured in a testimonial in March of 2012!
It would be my pleasure to introduce you to our lovely corner of Connecticut!
